Website Intake Check for law firms

Free, written and dated in 2 business days: can a potential client reach you from your contact page on a phone tonight, and does your site tell them when you’ll hear back? We read your page the way a visitor sees it and mark each line Works, Gap or Not checked, with a picture of your form at phone width.

Written, dated, back in 2 business days

What does the free Website Intake Check cover, and what can’t it see?

It covers what any visitor can see before Send. What happens after Send can’t be seen from outside, and the report says so.

  1. 1The form on a phoneHow far down it starts, how many boxes it asks for and how many are required, the keyboard each box brings up, and any puzzle before Send.

A tool reads your contact page and takes a picture of it at phone width, and we check every count against that picture before the report is signed.

  2. 2A reply promise near the formA line close to Send that tells the person when they will hear back.

We quote the words near your form that say when a person will answer, or note that there are none.

  3. 3An after-hours lineSomething that tells a visitor at 9 PM, or on the weekend, when a person will read what they send.

We look for anything that tells an evening or weekend visitor when they will hear back or how to reach you.

  4. 4A way to ask for a timeA booking link or a request for a time. If there is none, the report says “None, which is fine if your team books after a conflict screen.”

We look for a booking link or a request for a time on the contact page.

  5. 5The hand-off inside your officeAlways marked Not checked. Nobody can see it from outside, so the report says so instead of guessing.

We note which intake or scheduling tool, if any, your page visibly loads.

In the report each line gets one of three marks: Works Gap Not checked

After Send: whether your form mail arrives and when a person answers can’t be seen from outside. The last line of the report offers one timed test, only if you say yes in writing.

How do we run the check?

We use your public pages and nothing else.

  • Every line carries the date and the US Eastern time we checked it, so you can repeat it yourself.
  • Nothing is submitted to your site for the check. No form, no chat, no booking.
  • No login and no password. We don’t need access to anything for the check.
  • You get a dated picture of your contact page at phone width with the report.
  • You get a written report by email within 2 business days.
  • No call is needed. If you want one later, you ask for it.

What does a fix cost?

Two fixed prices, each with a written scope, agreed in writing before any work starts.

A fix is tested with one marked test message, sent only after you say yes in writing, from an address you know is ours.

What the fix coversForm and auto-reply fix $110Form, after-hours reply and booking request $250
Contact form repaired so it works and reads well on a phoneYesYes
Auto-reply to the person who wrote in, saying it arrived and when a person will read itYesYes
After-hours reply, so someone who writes in at night is told when a person will read itNoYes
A booking request sent in the auto-replyNoYes
Hand-off of each inquiry to one inbox, or to your intake tool’s own email addressNoYes

What is the monthly intake test?

It’s $229 a month, and it buys four things. Under a standing written yes, we send one marked test through your form each month, time what comes back and send you the dated result. We re-check the lines above every month. If form mail fails, you get an alert, set up during a fix. And up to 30 minutes a month of repairs to the form, the mail and the auto-reply are included.

One site update can switch off the mail your form sends while the page still says “thank you”. The monthly test catches that in the month it happens.

What will we never do?

  • Send anything to your firm, even a test, fill in your form or book a slot without your written yes.
  • Log in to your site for the check, or ask for a password before you hire us.
  • Contact your clients or anyone at the firm other than the person who asked.
  • Give legal advice or comment on your professional duties. We fix websites and mail; your bar rules stay your call.
  • Share your report with anyone else.
  • Charge for the check.

Who looks at your site?

Every check gets two passes. First our check tool reads your public pages and logs what it finds, with the time. Then a tool takes a picture of your page at phone width, and we check every line against it before the report is signed. The report is signed by our founder. If you found us on LinkedIn, that’s the person you’ve been talking to.

DistroCode has worked on 300+ web projects since 2017. We’re a US company in Sterling Heights, Michigan, and we work with firms across the US.

What do firms ask before they request a check?

Is the free check a sales pitch?

No. For each gap the report shows what we saw and what fixing it changes, and says your web person or we can make the change. Prices are on this page, and a fix starts only when you reply to the report. There’s no call unless you ask for one.

Does it matter which site builder we use?

No. We work on any common site builder and on custom sites. The check reads only what a visitor sees, so it works the same on all of them.

Do you need a login for the check?

No. The check uses your public pages only. We ask for access only once you choose a fix.

How long does it take?

The check reaches you within 2 business days of your request. If you say yes to the timed test it offers, that result follows as a dated note after 3 business days. For a fix, we give you the time in writing with the price, before work starts.

What does each fix include?

The $110 form and auto-reply fix repairs your contact form so it works on a phone, and sets up an auto-reply to the person who wrote in, sent through your firm’s own mail account or one mail service we name in writing.

The $250 fix adds an after-hours reply, a booking request sent in the auto-reply, and a hand-off of each inquiry to one inbox or to your intake tool’s own email address. It doesn’t include building a link into that tool’s software.

What do you need from us for a fix?

A login that can change your form and mail settings (an editor login usually can’t add the piece that sends mail), the address inquiries should go to, and your written yes for one marked test. If your IT provider holds your domain settings, we send them written steps. Our price reply names who at your firm has to act, and we ask for access at most twice. No access in 10 business days closes the job as delivered, in writing.

What happens to inquiry data?

For the free check we see only your public pages. We don’t open your stored inquiries; where our login could see them we ask for a role that can’t, and say so in writing first. Before any fix, you get our one-page note on how we handle inquiry data.

How do you ask for your free check?

Three fields at the top of this page: your name, your firm’s website and your email.
